How To Look Beautiful Naturally [Without Makeup]

Honestly, makeup always felt pretty foreign to me. There would have hardly been days that I did full face makeup. Maybe a couple times so far in life. Makeup is the cherry on the cake for me. What I, in all sincerity, believe is the cake should be so attractive that you forget about the ‘cherry’. Yes, because if someday you had to come forward without makeup, you should, confidently. That’s what this article’s all about — how to look beautiful naturally (without makeup).

And when I say without makeup, I mean without even a single makeup product.

Some of the benefits why I prefer going natural to wearing makeup is

    • It’s effortless — just a little care here and there and you’re all set.
    • It saves a lot of money as well as time.
    • Less consumption — good for the environment.

    It is achievable, girls!

Ready to feel confident and flaunt your natural beauty?

    Here we go —

HOW TO LOOK BEAUTIFUL NATURALLY [WITHOUT MAKEUP]

    Haircare:

Gorgeous healthy locks can take years off your face. Keeping the scalp clean, applying natural hair masks, and less heat-styling are some of the healthy hair habits you can follow. My grandma said, “our hair is our greatest asset”. Care for them a little and you’re going to make a statement for sure.

    Skincare:

Women who ditch makeup follow an effective skincare routine. They religiously remove makeup before bed. They cleanse, exfoliate, and apply face masks. And they never skip their moisturizers and sunscreens.

They not only focus on their face but the entire body.

    Brow and lashes:

Brows can make or break your look. Keep them in perfect shape and you don’t need a single makeup item. The same goes for lashes.

You can get your eyebrows professionally done for once. After that just plucking the new grown (extra) hair and trimming the outgrown can do the trick.

For lashes, brushing with a clean mascara wand or similar brush or using an eyelash curler really opens up the eyes and makes you look awake and fresh.

    Lip care:

Again, exfoliation or gently scrubbing off with a wet towel can remove the dead skin layer. Follow up with a good lip balm or almond oil for that plump, smooth, and glossy effect.

    Teeth:

Another important point to look beautiful naturally is paying attention to your teeth. Oral hygiene is so important not only for your health but your looks. Especially to look good without lip color.

You can try natural and safer ways to care for your pearly whites.

    Nails:

I think, nails or hands caught second attention after the face. It makes a great impression of how much you care about yourself.

I have a complete article on easy-peasy ways to keep your hands and legs in great shape all the time.

    Dress appropriately:

Dressing or styling correctly for your body type can make a huge difference in how you look even without makeup. Try a few different looks by changing your footwear, and accessories to see what compliments your appearance.

    Physique/health:

Drinking plenty of water for well-hydrated skin; getting good sleep; cutting down on junk food; eating lots of fruits and vegetables; leading a stress-free life; exercising regularly are some factors vital for good health and to keep you looking young and beautiful naturally.

    Final words:

Following these few hassle-free things every day, you’ll never want to wear makeup anymore.

  • 5 Beauty Essentials Every Stay-At-Home Mom Needs In Her Bag

5 Beauty Essentials Every Stay-At-Home Mom Needs In Her Bag

In today’s action-packed life, if nothing else, keeping these 5 beauty essentials in your bag will make your life so much easier and better. With this list of beauty products, you’re sure to pull the look together in a jiffy.

A stay-at-home life, with or without kids, can be pretty dreadful. Pretty much everyone will witness those bad hair days, dry skin on the face, dehydrated hands, or a tiresome face. In whatever way you try, those salon visits on your list are hardly checked off.

Cheer up, these few things will help you look fairly elegant.

Also, with holidays around, this list can be helpful to pick a gift for your friends, that is nice and affordable.

    So, let’s begin:

5 BEAUTY ESSENTIALS EVERY STAY-AT-HOME MOM NEEDS IN HER BAG

    Tinted moisturizer:

No amount of makeup can beat well-hydrated and even skin. In spite of the fact that a healthy complexion requires more than a good skincare routine. It needs care as to eating a healthy balanced diet, adequate water consumption, good night’s sleep, an active lifestyle, and more. In today’s time, we are favored with a holy grail product like a tinted moisturizer.

It is a ONE-STEP makeup base for that radiant natural glow. It is just your daily moisturizer with a slight tint of color in it. It assists cover minor blemishes, spots, or redness. And lets you enjoy the perks of an even complexion. A tinted moisturizer can even help transition day-to-night makeup (using a pressed powder & some highlighter). The application doesn’t require brushes or blenders, it is easier to apply with fingers. A tinted moisturizer is not only budget-friendly but the formula is lightweight and blends into the skin smoothly.

As a busy mom, you certainly need this product in your bag to look a bit polished in the daily rush.

    Red lipstick:

Whether you’re a warm skin tone, cool, or neutral, having your red with you can be lifesaving. Yes, you read it right! Again a one-step makeup.

Wondering if you can wear red every day? Hell yes, if you pick the right formula and texture! Red lip color can come in a variety of forms — from lip glosses to tints to stains to liquids to mattes, and the classic red lipstick. I find the classic red lipstick call for a few additional steps like prepping the lips (exfoliating, applying a lip balm, concealing) but the other forms of red colors on the list here are easier to go with. For me, it’s lip stains. Just one or two swipes and you’re ready to go.

I highly recommend finding the perfect red lip color, particularly for my fellow stay-at-home mommies/wives, it’ll lift up your spirit.

    Glasses or shades:

Yes, a pair of eyeglasses/sunglasses to hide the dark circles around the eyes. If you have no time for the frills — simply put on your glasses or shades. They will do the trick.

No more priming your face, concealing the dark area around the eyes, putting eyeshadows, highlighters, and all. Just one plain solution. But don’t forget your red lipstick. You need it when wearing glasses to create balance. You don’t want your bare lips to make you look pale — because your eyes are drawing attention.

    A cap/headband/dry shampoo:

Bad hair day? The simpler way out the better! You skip shampooing your hair in a hurry for the third time in a row. And now they look greasy, frizzy, awful. It happens.

One trick that can work a little is to spray some water all over your hair and dry them with a hairdryer in a cold setting. Another way is to backcomb your hair and pull them in a ponytail, topknot, or no-sweat messy bun. The third trick is to wear a headband for a classy look. But if your hair is frizzy enough for these styles then a cap can come useful.

At last, if nothing helps, dry shampoo can be a good bet. I don’t really recommend store-bought dry shampoos for their negative effects on hair and health. You can try making them using safe ingredients at home.

    Hand cream:

Our hands — the excessively used yet equally uncared-for part of the body. I know that’s a hard reality of a homemaker’s life. Ever imagined how much we use our hands all day? After this whole thing of washing and cleaning, the skin on our hands undoubtedly loses moisture and becomes dry, dull, and dehydrated.

I, assuredly, forget to care for them. And then feel awkward between individuals. I used to dislike my hands for being worn out or shabby. But then I came to realize they endure immense throughout the day. Instead of acting unkind, they deserve love and care.

Therefore, investing in good hand cream is an essential need.

  • 8 TIPS TO GET BETTER SLEEP [FOR BUSY MOMS]

8 TIPS TO GET BETTER SLEEP [FOR BUSY MOMS]

This simple guide on ‘how to get better sleep’ will give you practical advice on to create a perfect bedtime routine, get a good night’s sleep, and enjoy a productive morning the next day.

Deep slumber is all you need to beat a lack of energy and low productivit, irritation, anxiety, and depression.

With the mom/adult life stress, it’s hard to suffice your sleep requirements. Not to mention your sleep quality.

You hardly get any shut-eye. In contrast, you face the unending demands of mommy duties. Breastfeeding, recovering post-delivery, homekeeping, babysitting, and running after toddlers. Plus, if you’re working, you have added responsibilities to manage.

However, for your body to perform in top condition, you need to accept one more responsibility towards yourself and that is getting plenty of enough sleep.

Why is getting enough sleep important?

During this pandemic, we were all concerned about our health. Importantly, about our immunity. Now is when we hear more about the role of sleep in improving our immune system than ever before.

Along with stronger immunity, getting a good night’s sleep is beneficial in many ways. Sleep improves alertness, concentration, and memory. It lowers stress.

Studies show people with bad sleep habits tend to eat more calorie-packed (unhealthy) food and weigh more.

Whereas, people with a good sleep routine enjoy younger-looking skin, healthy hair, sound mind, and lot of energy to perform tasks.

Following good bedtimed routine, you can eradicate minor sleep issues and get quality sleep.

8 TIPS TO GET BETTER SLEEP [FOR BUSY MOMS]

1| Work in favor of your circadian clock:

Let’s start with the obvious one — waking up and going to bed on same time every day.

Circadian rhythm or circadian clock aka the internal or body clock moderates your sleep-wake cycle. The essential thing you can do to improve your circadian clock is to fall asleep at a consistent time.

Although it’s hard to follow this step with younger kids. You should still have a rough idea about when you want to go to bed and what time to wake up.

Observe the time when you feel sleepy. Note the amount (number of hours) of sleep you need to wake up without an alarm. The number you get is the amount of rest your body requires. If you have that much rest, you’ll be more productive and calm throughout the day.

Make sure you go to bed at a decent hour.

I have a tough time following this step.

Still, in order to wake up at a reasonable time, if not early, and to feel fresh and energetic throughout the day, I hop into bed earlier. It’s usually 10:30 p.m. for me.

Another good way to help your circadian clock is exposure to sunlight in the daytime. Sleeping into the noon or napping for longer in the evening is also a surefire way to disrupt your sleep cycles.

    2| Sleep in cool temperatures:

On top of promoting the body’s melatonin production sleeping in cool temperatures helps you doze off quickly.

Melatonin is an antioxidant/anti-aging hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle.

Our body temperature naturally rises as we near wake-up time, Which causes us to sweat and wake up in the middle of the night.

Thus sleeping in a cold room can improve the quality of your sleep by keeping your body temperature cool.

The increased melatonin production (which results from sleeping at a cool temperature) ensures sound sleep. Which moreover regulates metabolism and lowers the risk of diseases.

3| Redo your bedroom to get some Zs:

By redo, I refer to a few simple tweaks.

Research says the look and feel of your bedroom has noticeable impact on your sleep quality.

It means more than lighting and temperature to create the right sleep environment.

    Keep your bedroom clutter-free.

Go through your room quickly and straighten things up.

Keep colors and fabrics of bedding, sheets, duvets/comforters, and pillows — comfortable.

If you don’t want to spend money, consider keeping them clean and smelling fresh.

    4| Avoid gadgets in bed:

Exposure to electric lighting at night — shows a negative effect on sleep. As it delays melatonin production, produces cortisol, and sets up alertness.

To avoid mental stimuli, stay away from your devices at least 30 or 45 minutes before bedtime.

Kick out (or turn off) the television, tablets, and laptop from the bedroom.

The sounds, lights, and movements the gadgets stimulate your brain and hinder sleep.

    5| Brain dump:

You have too much on your plate. Your mind is racing so much that you cannot relax at all.

A good brain dump session is what you need.

A brain dump refers to practice of letting out all the thoughts, to-dos, wishlists, emotions, and feelings that cause stress and anxiety.

People do a brain dump in a lot of ways.

For me, it’s journaling. Writing using a pen and notebook works.

Brain dumping describes writing out your thoughts as they occur.

I suggest you not feel awkward or hold back from writing out any embarrassing or uncomfortable things that come to your mind. Just bring it out unreservedly. I agree thoughts can be pretty awkward. But you anyway are not going to share it with anyone. I heartily recommend not sharing unless you readily want to.

    6| Early dinner:

Besides maintaining a healthy body weight, eating an early dinner can promote better sleep.

Eating meals around your bedtime interferes with your sleep. Because, the digestion process takes up energy and disrupts sleep. Thus, having meals 2-3 hours prior to bedtime is recommended.

This allows your body time to complete the digestion process and rest so you can enjoy quality sleep.

Having caffeine late in the day can keep you awake at night. It is advisable that you have your coffee before 5 p.m.

Drinking warm milk before bed is also said to be beneficial. It induces sound sleep and makes you fall asleep faster.

    7| Wind-up ritual:

Avoid stress-inducing activities like watching the news, checking emails, or social media before bedtime.

Pick good sleepwear. I love cotton for being 100% natural, breathable, and gentle on the skin.

Develop bedtime rituals — turn down the lights. Cleanse your face. Brush your teeth. Soak in a bath. Snuggle down in a sleeping bag with a good novel. Cuddle with your hubby, kids, or pets. Create a to-do list for the next day. Do your prayer or meditate for a few minutes. Clear out any thoughts or write something good about your day. Do some light stretchings.

    8| Romance/lovemaking:

Last but not least, intimacy can greatly help you doze off quicker.

Keeping the ‘scientific part” aside, the feeling of love and affection is such a stress-buster.

Also, the release of endorphins helps you feel connected. It gives a sense of bonding, belonging, relaxation, and happiness.

    Final words:

Establishing these soothing pre-sleep habits will ensure you get good shut-eye.

They are elements of a sound sleep routine.

To create a perfect bedtime routine, observe the behaviors that are destructive to your own sleep cycles and bring change.

Over to you. Don’t forget to leave your most helpful tips and tricks in the comments section below. Sleep tight!

7 MORNING HABITS OF SUCCESSFUL WOMEN

    #Morninghabit1 — RISE EARLY:

“One key to success is to have lunch at the time of the day most people have breakfast,” said Robert Brault.

A majority of successful women you see are early risers.

Not only has science time and again proved the perks of waking up early but it’s rewarding in many, many ways.

To make waking up early easier, you want to hit the bed sooner.

Besides starting your day on a positive note, getting enough shut-eye improves –productivity, work rate, concentration, memory; decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

[click_to_tweet tweet=”‘One key to success is to have lunch at the time of the day most people have breakfast,’ said Robert Brault.” quote=”‘One key to success is to have lunch at the time of the day most people have breakfast,’ said Robert Brault.”]

Waking up even an hour early keeps you healthy by allowing you time to squeeze in some exercise; prepare and have a good breakfast; which boosts immunity, regulates weight, and keeps you energized throughout the day.

It offers more hours for your work — to plan and prepare for your day ahead; get your essential tasks done.

    #Morninghabit2 — GRATITUDE JOURNAL:

[click_to_tweet tweet=”‘ The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see.’ — Mary Davis” quote=”‘ The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see.’ — Mary Davis”]

It’s no surprise that practicing gratitude is beneficial for your body and soul.

Many studies have shown that the simplest practice of making a gratitude list, meaning — counting, or jotting down your blessings, significantly influences your well-being.

The easiest way to exercise this is by maintaining a gratitude journal. A journal can help you keep everything in place.

To make it more simple you can allot time; say 5 or 10 minutes daily or as your schedule allows.

I keep it flexible, like, I go into writing details on a relaxing day or if I have more thoughts.

While I just meditate and thank God for the most important people and things in my life when pushed for time.

You’ve got to find a method that works for you as there’s no one size fits all answer.

Each day, taking a few moments to draw attention to people and things you’re grateful for, helps to cultivate a positive attitude; builds self-regard; makes you optimistic.

Practicing gratitude brings the feeling of abundance, therefore, reducing materialism, social comparisons, or doing wrong to others.

It is a great way to transition into being a cheerful person that everyone would love to be around.

    How wonderful is that?

    #Morninghabit3 — BREATHE/SPEND TIME IN SOLITUDE:

Spending alone time at the window at the crack of dawn is time well-spent for me. Additionally, it’s a cherry on the top moment, if it is raining.

Letting go of all the worries and being still and present in the moment; experiencing the glory of the morning to every bit of it. And letting the morning swish its magic wand to transform my day into a happy, productive, creative, and energized one is what I count on every morning.

I have purely simplified my life but if you’re a busy bee and gathered with kids and a lot of people, a lot of time, you want a well-deserved break to nurture your soul.

    Solitude is beyond everything.

    #Morninghabit4 — EAT HEALTHY BREAKFAST:

Breakfast — indeed means breaking the overnight fast. Hence, it is important to fuel your body in the correct way.

What you feed your body at the beginning of your day can set the tone for the entire day.

But this main meal most commonly seems to be slipping off your priority list due to demanding mommy duties.

By eating a healthy and fulfilling breakfast you’ll be able to think clearly, make better decisions, and have the energy to choose something healthier for dinner.

But if your first meal of the day is unhealthy, you are more likely to pick poor meal options later in the day because your brain would not have enough glucose levels to allow you to think clearly. You might experience hunger pangs. And you would only want to serve your hunger without giving much thought to nutrition.

Successful women value their health. They plan and prepare nutritious breakfasts.

They know they need proper nutrition to fuel their body and mind in order to pursue their passion.

If you could prep up a lit bit beforehand and eat something nutritious, you’re going to do a whole lot better in terms of feeling vitalized and having more strength all day long.

    #Morninghabit5 — EXERCISE:

Successful women are long known for regular workout routines. Because they appreciate their health.

Running, weight lifting, playing a sport, getting in thousands of steps a day, or performing a good cardio session at home.

Nothing specific. Just a chunk of time is dedicated to exercising.

While there’s no specific answer to the “what’s the right time to exercise” question — mornings always turn out to be the better time for exercise.

    How?

    1. By getting up a little earlier than your kids you can focus and enjoy your exercise, as morning time is distraction-free — you’re less likely to get notified, called, or sidetracked.
    2. You’ll have more energy and be in a better mood to do some serious exercise moves.
    3. Thirdly, the tried and true reason is, evening workouts, mainly rigorous activities can disrupt your sleep; whereas morning exercise can help you improve sleep quality by promoting rich and sound sleep patterns.

    #Morninghabit6 — READ:

Want to be that smart lady in a group of colleagues or friends who can hold on to any conversation, or indeed add more knowledge or facts to it, and make it more interesting? Then you want to develop the life-changing habit of reading.

Reading is an exercise for the brain.

Successful women habitually read because they want to strengthen their thinking and decision-making process along with being stress-free and creative.

Reading, besides, improving your memory, attention, focus, and concentration refines vocabulary and makes you appear more confident and professional.

You can benefit from reading fiction too. As it helps boost creativity, strengthen relationships, and make you receptive to new ideas.

So, be sure to embrace some reading time to enjoy the impressive rewards.

    #Morninghabit7 — VISUALIZE:

Visualization plus discipline are the most powerful ways to achieve the biggest goals in life.

It is something we do every.

The activities you’re going to perform when scheduling your day, outlining a business plan, the ways you’re going to have fun on your trip, etc are examples of visualization.

Visualization is an effective technique that creative professionals and sportsmen use to enhance their performance. I have seen Indian former International cricketer Sachin Tendulkar guiding fellow cricketers to visualize, many a time.

Visualizing is a method of picturing or envisioning your life the way you want it.

You want to be a successful singer — imagine yourself practicing daily, performing at grand concerts with ease and comfort. Along with your physical or vocal training, if you practice visualization, in all likelihood you’re soon going to achieve it.

Even if you’re a stay-at-home mama you need this kind of technique to thrive in life. In addition to your daily routines, mentally visualizing how you want to spend your day can be super effective. Calm, productive, relaxing, energetic?

You’ll love it, girls! I promise.

    Final words:

As they say, your habits decide your future. Building positive morning habits will set you up for success and prosperity.

So, time to up your game.

9 Amazing Ways To Simplify Your Life In 2023

In the earlier post, we discussed what is simple living and 3 super simple ways to start a simple life. If you haven’t already, you can check that post here. Today, we’ll look at some practical ways to simplify your life.

Simplifying refers to getting rid of the excess, minimizing possessions and complexities, and making everything clear and easy.

Simplifying your life — you would remove all the unwanted/unused stuff and reduce it to bare essentials.

9 Amazing Ways To Simplify Your Life In 2021

While purging, you’ll come across what you’re core needs are and what items/choices serve you in a positive way.

Organizing these items/choices in a more functional way will make your life simpler, alleviate stress, and allow you to concentrate on the important matters of life.

Since simplifying is about lowering your possessions we’ll focus on 9 areas where you can minimize. The areas that’ll bring immediate and most powerful change in your life.

9 AMAZING WAYS TO SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE IN 2021

    1. Fewer clothes:

Digging into a closet flooded with mostly unfavorite or worthless clothes is a terrible start to the morning.

The guilt of squandering, the clock ticking, and the pressure of pulling everything together — invoke negative vibes right at the beginning of the day.

Simplifying your wardrobe could be a quick fix. Also, a wardrobe is a better start to gaining momentum.

Start by removing all the ill-fitted and unloved clothes from your closet. Toss or donate them.

Looking at a closet full of the only clothes you love would motivate you to keep on in the areas of life.

Once you pick your favorites, you can create a capsule wardrobe by trying on and working the pieces together, to create different looks out of the same clothes.

    2. Fewer duplicates:

Do you actually use those 50 different shades of lipsticks, 60 hair ties, 45 coffee mugs, 14 towels, 17 handbags, and hundreds and thousands of spares?

I know, we rarely consider getting rid of them thinking they’re useful.

On a quiet day, note which items you use to cook meals. Separate the lipsticks you use throughout the week, in a small pouch.  Observe which coffee mug you reach out for, every morning. You’ll learn you hang on to only a few items of them.

    Everything else is cluttered.

    3. Less media:

Television and mobile phone consume an enormous amount of time. You turn on your television to watch one show and 3 hours are gone.

Do the negatives of drama shows, news channels, and endless gossip add value to your life in any way?

People who complain about time constraints must reassess their media time.

With many of us working online, going even a day without a phone or the internet is serious.

But you can certainly consider ditching your phone while having meals. When hanging out with your family. During kids’ study time. While spending time with God or working in the house, exercising, and meditating.

One way to do this is by turning off the push notifications. Or switching to do not disturb mode.

Identify triggers and act accordingly. Set aside a certain amount of time for media and focus on your life at other times.

    4. Shop less:

Want to get out of the rut of decluttering routinely?

Abstaining from shopping is the answer.

Identifying the real cause when you find yourself shopping more often is important to overcome the issue.

Does the heartbreak, sadness, or simply feeling isolated make you shop for new things to feel better?

But does shopping actually makes you feel better? Is shopping a habit or do you try to keep up with the Joneses?

Find an alternative hobby or another way out as shopping is all fun only for a while but it can’t be the solution. In fact, the clutter from acquiring a lot of stuff will complicate your life more.

    5. Multitask less:

Having multiple tabs open on the computer screen, listening to podcasts/watching television while walking on a treadmill, talking to someone while driving a car, texting/chatting while cooking, and cooking several dishes at one time.

The examples of just how we unconsciously multitask in our daily life are endless.

If you think you’re saving a slew of time and being more productive by multitasking then you’re sorely mistaken, my friend.

Travis Bradberry said, “Every time you multitask you aren’t just harming your performance at the moment; you may very well be damaging an area of your brain that’s critical to your future success at work.”

I think the reason is enough to stop multitasking. Still, running hither and thither slows you down and hampers your efficiency.

Even the tasks take longer to accomplish than they would do performing one at a time.

Our minds concentrate merely on a single thing at a time. Doing multiple activities at one time affects the quality of work as well.

    6. Paperless:

I don’t know about you but sorting through, filling, and recycling papers is a pain for me. Receipts, utility bills/invoices, newspapers, magazines, takeaway food flyers, invitations, etc create unwanted clutter.

Thanks to high technology going paperless is achievable.

Through a computerized system, I find — scanning, keeping track of papers, and finding them through the search option of your electronic filing system is super easy; saving hours of work stirring through the piles of paper to find important documents.

Keeping the record digitally is particularly useful in the case of health records, bills, banking details, etc.,

    7. Less ‘Yes’:

Have the work deadlines, family responsibilities, and social activities overbooked your schedule?

Do you constantly feel overwhelmed and that you don’t have time for yourself?

It’s time to pause and reevaluate your time and commitments and learn to say NO for your own good.

I know, the issue of overscheduling arises when you can’t say no.

    • You can’t say no to family commitments because you could never make them unhappy.
    • You can’t say no to your boss because you don’t want to appear as a negative employee.
    • You can’t say no to your friends because you don’t want to appear rude.

But where does your own time lie in between trying to please everyone around you?

A courteous no can help you find that much-needed space for yourself.

    8. Unfollow and unsubscribe:

The reason to unfollow and unsubscribe from unwanted people and subscriptions again may be great for your sanity and your bank account.

In the Internet world, apps and websites especially shopping sites want you to subscribe to and follow them on social media.

Additionally, if you let them have your contact number then you’re sure to be bombarded with an infinite number of notifications throughout the day.

Also, once in a while, taking a good look at whom you follow on social media, and how it makes you feel (positive or negative) is crucial for your emotional well-being.

    9. Automate more:

Your hands are constantly full of work, family, and home — that it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day.

Today, everything and anything that you can think of could be automated. Right from cleaning appliances like washing machines, dishwashers, self-cleaning ovens, frost-free refrigerators, robot vacuum cleaners, robotic lawnmowers, and so much more, to automated bill payment methods, to free home-delivery grocery service.

    Final words:

By squeezing in a few decluttering and organizing sessions here and there you can simplify and improve the quality of your life, and enjoy some peaceful time in the middle of chaos.

Thank you so much for reading. Happy Simplifying!

  • 3-Minute Makeup Routine For Busy Moms

3-Minute Makeup Routine For Busy Moms

One of my new year’s resolutions has always been looking a little more presentable than being just plain out of bed. But like usual, keeping resolutions is hardest and a way to stick to it is by adding a quick makeup routine to my schedule.

Since many of us are work-at-home and stay-at-home mommies, our health itself is on the back burner, then doing full-on face makeup — you kidding? You ask.

Because honestly, who has time and would intend to cake up like a spectrum only to run errands at the grocery store or for a usual coffee date with your partner?

The idea behind a 3-minute makeup routine using only 3 products — Is that it’s something really achievable for an active mama.

Anyone and everyone can undoubtedly squeeze in a 3-minute makeup routine into their day and grip 3 makeup products easily.

The primary reason most homemakers and stay-at-home moms are put down compared to working women is because of their appearance.

3-Minute Makeup Routine For Busy Moms

That’s the power of dressing up. Others will respect you when you respect yourself — your appearance is a marking of that.

Since the dressing affects your attitude, you’re more graceful, positive, and productive when well-dressed.

Having said that, looking all pulled together is only doable when it’s quick and easy; when putting on a nice outfit and makeup is just a matter of a few minutes.

Here’s how you can create a decent look with the lowest as 3 multi-tasking products.

3-MINUTE MAKEUP ROUTINE FOR BUSY MOMS

    Tinted Moisturizer:

Amongst the broad range of face products — liquid foundations, stick foundations, cushion foundations, cream compact foundations, airbrush foundations, bb creams, and cc creams selecting an ideal everyday product for yourself can be challenging.

It may also feel impractical to wear a foundation or even bb/cc cream on an everyday basis being a busy mom.

    So what’s the best bet?

    My suggestion —

    A tinted moisturizer!

A tinted moisturizer could be your silver bullet to slightly — cover redness, conceal under-eye dark circles and spots, and even out the skin, giving you a natural-looking radiant complexion.

Most tinted moisturizers come with SPF (sun protection factor). Thus, nailing two birds with one stone — moisturizer plus sunscreen.

A tinted moisturizer can help cut two different routines – skincare and makeup routine into half by combining both skincare (toning & moisturizing) and makeup routine (primer, corrector, concealer, foundation) into ONE STEP.

Unlike foundations and bb/cc creams, tinted moisturizer is forgiving on the skin and is easier to remove.

Tinted moisturizer is the better bet for this sort of short and precise makeup routine since it can be applied by fingers, allowing you to forgo brushes, beauty blenders, or sponges.

A mattifying variant would also let you go without a setting powder. Thereby, proving to be a multi-tasking, time and effort-saving, affordable, and easy-to-use product.

Just take a pea-size amount on the tip of your finger and dot it around the area where you need coverage; blend it well into the skin and you’re good to go. It’s that easy, mommies.

    Brow and lash mascara:

Eye-makeup preference isn’t the same for everyone.

Women with thinner eyebrows and lashes require a brow kit/pencil and volumizing mascara for lashes; some want to line their water-line with a flesh-toned pencil to open up the eyes and make yourself appear more awake and fresh; while those blessed with thicker brows or lashes can entirely skip this step. You can pick alternatives as per your requirement.

But a brow and lash mascara is one product that can come in handy for everyone. It’s again a super simple-to-use product that can make your brows and lashes look healthy and polished.

Just one coat is enough for thicker brows and lashes beauties and sweethearts with thinner brows and lashes may need another coat.

    Lip and Cheek Stain/Tint:

No makeup is complete without a little pop of color.

Whether you’re a neutral and muted lipstick lover or a fan of fresh rosy pink and red lips.

A little splash of color on lips and cheeks is going to make you look brighter and attractive and feel great about your appearance.

And a multi-tasker product like lip and cheek stains/tints proves useful in many ways.

You don’t have to worry about harmonizing your blush and lip color. Second, it’s easy to apply and the formula is comfortable. Thirdly, it’s easy to carry as it can stay even in your wallet.

The application is easier — just take 2-3 drops on the back of your hand and dab it on your cheeks and lips with your fingers.

For better results, apply on cheeks with the help of a beauty blender, and make sure not to wear any setting powder before you apply the cheek stain.

That’s all, I think, stay-at-home moms, work-at-home moms, or moms on the go need to quickly pull the look together and feel more confident.

  • 14 Cheap And Fun DATE IDEAS

14 Cheap And Fun DATE IDEAS

Valentine’s day and colder months definitely cry out for a romantic date. But it’s needless to have special events to make cozy time with your special person.

Courting your sweetheart is the elixir to keep your marriage powered as well as to connect and liven up from the daily grind.

Kids, tight budgets, overwork, and fatigue could be detrimental to a marriage. These are some usual excuses to sidestep small delights and take your partner for granted.

You think the kids are too young to leave with someone, cannot afford a classy date at the moment, are drained after a long day, or have no time except the weekends that you want to spend quietly at home.

It doesn’t have to be like this, though. You can make the situation better.

You might still do without spending money but to cultivate a happy marriage you must invest in time, energy, thoughts, and efforts.

14 CHEAP AND FUN DATE IDEAS

There are several ways to have a fun date with your partner, without paying a fortune, other than the dull dinner and movie nights.

14 Cheap And Fun Date Ideas

    At-Home Date Ideas

    1. Romantic song list: Create a collective playlist of your favorite songs. Play it in the background as you tenderly converse, have dinner, or look through your old photo albums.

    3. Play board games: We have a play date once a few days. We love ludo, carrom board, snakes, and ladders. You can play snooker, chess, or do a puzzle together. It’s a wonderful way to relive childhood memories with your beloved.

    4. Do up: It barely costs anything to put up the fairy lights, flowers, balloons, and ribbons; light some candles; pull out your special dinner plates, and bed covers. Buying once (one-off payment) can no longer be used.

    5. Bubble bath: Set up your bathtub with warm water; toss in some essential oils, rose petals, and decor items; light some aromatic candles, or turn on your electric diffuser and get cozy.

    6. Floor picnic: Lay a comforter/quilt on the floor. Bring your blanket to the living room. Pull some throw pillows. Bring out food and drinks. A bed tray foldable table does great for the floor picnic. Drape the same with a fine fabric. Put your favorite movie/show and there you go.

    7. Binge-watch favorite movies: Love to catch up on the latest movie together? Or maybe one you had watched together when you were dating; a favorite actor/actress movie? My husband and I love to watch movies from the time we grew up. I really wished to watch a lot of my favorite movies with him. We watch them now and enjoy them twice as much.

    8. Cook date/chore date: I know, many of you are familiar with sharing a cooking experience but a chore date?! Order a take-out and try getting a little cleaning done. Try for once and you’ll be amazed at the quality of time you spend together and omg the results will be so much worth it!

Don’t make it extreme for the first time though. Just go for a bit of decluttering and organizing your personal belongings and that should do it.

    9. Art date: If you both love some art form.. give it a try for fun. Painting, crafting, playing music, taking pictures; acting, and filming videos. Primarily, get creative together.

    Outdoor Date Ideas

    10. Brunch date: Heading out for a walk (in the neighborhood) under the dawning sky feels amazing. And how about if coupled with a brunch? Ride in nature, spend some time in the woods, have a long talk, hold hands, enjoy the quiet moments, get some sun, and hit the breakfast nook on your way back home.

14 Cheap And Fun Date Ideas

    11. Grocery Store date: Many of you may be startled to know but… the grocery store is my wonderland! It is! And surprisingly, my husband knows it 😉. So, on a serious note — I grocery shop only ONCE a month. Yes, I do that intentionally to avoid overspending.
But when I do, I take a leave from my housework. So we have food delivered to us and I enjoy a relaxing day with hubby. I like to apply some good face masks, paint my nails, dress up, and head out.

First, we get the groceries — drop them in the car, watch a movie, stop at the drive-thru, and head back home.

    12. Explore your hometown or neighborhood: My husband and I were born and raised across the same town. Still, there are many unseen places that we love to explore closely. We also love to revisit our childhood places — the parks, the beaches, the restaurants, the confectionery stores, and the bazaars.

    13. Farm date/visit: The farm is again my happy place. If you’re anything like us you can spend any amount of time on the farms — getting to know each fruit, veggie, flower plant; animal; the natural milking method is a blessing.

    14. Library date: If you’re fortunate enough to have a bookworm partner, look no further than a library date. Firstly, the library is a whole different world; full of life and a great escape from the boring human race and real-life scenarios. Find a good library cafe near you and arrange an afternoon luxuriating with your precious.

    15. Historical place visit: My husband and I love to explore historical places. I adore caves and artwork. I get so much absorbed in the carvings or sculptures and try to learn what they signify. We thoroughly enjoy going to historical places.

  • No Diet No Exercise – Weight Loss Tips To Steal From Grandma

No Diet No Exercise – Weight Loss Tips To Steal From Grandma

“Permanent results only come from permanent changes in diet and lifestyle. – Dr. Joel Fuhrman”

Not everyone is a diet and exercise person. Never mind, there are some effective — no diet no exercise – weight loss tips to steal from grandma.

Have you ever seen your grandma going on a low-carb/low-fat diet, counting calories, training in the gym, or keeping track of daily food intake? Certainly NOT, right?

Still, do you remember her being out of shape or overweight? I’ve seen my grandma with a nice feminine physique. She never counted calories but ate a determined portion of food at a set time. She never did crunches but had an even belly (yes it wasn’t that flat but it wasn’t bulgy either).

A well-disciplined lifestyle was the result of why people back in the day never gained excess weight without even aiming for it. We want our kids to follow self-control and strictness. But what happens to us when it comes to following the same guidelines?

Weight loss shouldn’t be a few-month program where you gain as much or even more than what you lose once the program ends. It is about the tiny lifestyle changes that make a huge difference.

No Diet No Exercise - Weight Loss Tips To Steal From Grandma

So, without any further ado, let me share with you some very effective weight-loss secrets which I’ve learned from my Grandma. These tips are surefire ways to lose weight. Quickly or gradually but the results are assured if you follow them day in and day out.

NO DIET NO EXERCISE – WEIGHT LOSS TIPS TO STEAL FROM GRANDMA

    So, here goes:

    Chew food thoroughly:

Do you feel worn out, weak, or suffer from nutritional deficiencies despite having healthy wholesome food? Chances are, you aren’t chewing your food properly. This is the first thing we were taught as a kid. My grandma told us, we must chew every bite 32 times. Yeah, it might seem practically impossible even today as an adult, there’s a significant reason behind it.

Grandma said, “there’s a reason we have teeth in our mouth and not in our tummy, we’ve got to do our tummy a favor by using our teeth to chew food thoroughly”.

    Don’t gorge yourself on:

Grandma never ate until she was full. She told us to eat a couple of morsels less before we were full. It takes our brain a couple of minutes to recognize that our stomach is full and thus it signals the feeling of fullness a bit later.

So, before receiving the signs of satiety, we already eat more than required, leading to overeating. This is when we need to be aware of our food quantity.

    Established mealtimes:

Grandma had fixed mealtimes. She had breakfast before 9am, lunch before 1pm, evening snacks before 5pm, and dinner before 8:30pm. She avoided having a late-night dinner.

Maintaining a proper eating time helps our body to recognize when it’s time for food. It prevents us from getting hunger pangs since we eat meals at proper intervals.

That way you avoid eating a lot in one go. It also keeps the metabolism running smoothly which further prevents the accumulation of fats.

Also, when we overeat, our body needs more energy for the process of digestion leaving us sluggish.

Early to bed early to rising:

Grandma had this disciplined sleep-wake routine. She hit the bed earlier and rises with the Sun. That helped her keep fresh & active throughout the day. I remember she was so energetic until late in the evenings.

    No stale food:

Since there were no refrigerators in those days – grandma didn’t have the luxury of cooking large batches and having freezer meals. All she did was cook fresh food for lunch and supper. Even the leftover food from lunch wasn’t eaten for dinner.

Also, because she didn’t have a refrigerator she bought fresh produce, meat, fish, and eggs, every day.  For doing that and also because she didn’t own a separate car she had to walk to the supermarket every single day.

    Physically active:

We all know those days of all manual work with no washer-dryer, no dishwasher, no robotic vacuum no food processors/blenders, no individual cars, no grocery stores around every nook and corner, etc. But she carried out day-to-day activities gracefully.

Grandma did all her housework manually – she didn’t have modern comfort that could make her household tasks easier, making her keep on her toes most time of the day, obligatory. Housework and walking were the only forms of exercise.

    No restaurant food:

Eating out was only left on special occasions. Rest were the days of all of her elaborate cooking.

    Distraction-free mealtime:

The breakfast, lunch, or dinner was exclusive family time. No one was ever distracted by cell phones, televisions, etc.

Everyone was solely interested in sharing about their day and indulging in deep conversations – a happy and positive atmosphere — just the perfect mood required for mealtimes.

    No fad diets:

Honestly, women in those days never cared about their body form. Thanks to the pollution-free environment, organic food, and healthier lifestyles, they were in proper shape without intending for.

That said, the fad diet was a concept left to television/movie stars. Ordinary people like us ate wholeheartedly.

    Portion Control:

Have you heard the saying,  “Breakfast like a king; lunch like a prince; dinner like a pauper.” People in those days sincerely followed the rhythm of nature. Breakfast and lunch were heavier than dinner.

No surprise they were so so healthy.

    Homespun birthdays and anniversaries:

I remember how grandma’s friends used to gather to help her with the birthday party decor, invites, and food preparations. She did the same in return.

I recall their loud talks and laughter that could make even a budget birthday party seem huge. Truly what a way to distress and relish the moment.

Also, homecooked food was way healthier as far as fats/oils, amount of salt and sugar, and the use of food colors were concerned, compared to the third-party food services.

    More home remedies:

Grandma had her various home remedies for cough and cold. She knew the correct massage techniques to treat headaches. There was nothing sort of over-counter pain-relievers that would cause weight gain and other side effects.

    No food journal:

She never counted calories. I doubt she knew the concept. She didn’t know what is a low-calorie, low-fat, low-carb diet; never had a food journal. She prepared and served everything using a generous amount of fats and sugar.

    Final words:

So those were the simplest things I saw my grandma doing that were a mark of a healthy lifestyle. Something that we might not even consider in today’s times. But very significant when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle and losing weight. I hope this article sheds some light on various other things that you might want to reconsider while losing weight with or without a diet and an exercise plan.

Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. Thank you so much for reading. Stay Happy! Stay Healthy!

    10 Quarantine Beauty Tips

Stuck at home and casting around for some quarantine beauty tips? Or want to ditch the makeup and go fresh-faced for a while? Then this post is for you.

Not all women like to wear full-face makeup at home. I don’t like it either.

Home is a place to be ourselves. And not get caught up in one more job of putting on the makeup. Also, in a stressful state like this, doing a full face of makeup daily won’t be enjoyable, especially when you know you won’t be stepping out.

That’s a small part about makeup. But what about the other beauty treatments that you get done in a salon?

    10 Quarantine Beauty Tips

You need a beauty regimen in place to look and feel confident naturally, without salon treatments or makeup. Particularly in a lockdown situation like this, when beauty salons or at-home salon services aren’t accessible. You need to make a move before things become unmanageable.

In here, we’ll see how to look beautiful without professional salon beauty treatments. And consider not only facial beauty but appearance in general.

    10 Quarantine Beauty Tips

    Radiant skin:

Build an effective skincare routine. In order to have good skin, you should create a good morning and nightly skincare regimen. Wash your face twice daily. Preferably, once in the morning upon waking and second at night before going to bed. A clean, clear complexion is more important than anything to look good without makeup. Check out the detailed step-by-step guide to establish a good skincare routine.

This doesn’t stop here. To look great without makeup, you have to care for your body as well. Shower daily to cleanse, pamper, and polish your skin. Clean clothes should go next to clean skin.

    Soft and shiny locks:

Keep your hair smelling fresh by shampooing regularly. Letting them air-dry. Applying a leave-in conditioner. Brushing twice a day.

Don’t forget to take a break from heat-styling tools.

In the case of overgrown hair, try styling it in different braids or a bun, a great way to explore new looks.

    Body Care:

If you aren’t exfoliating your skin regularly, then you’re missing out on an important skincare factor. Get rid of the dead skin by exfoliating your face, lips, arms, and feet from time to time. Scrubbing the skin removes the dead skin layer and stimulates blood supply, leaving the skin soft and healthy.

In case you are still unfamiliar with the pros of shaving your arms and legs, then you’re missing out on an important benefit of having silky, smooth skin in the comfort of your home. Be sure to do some research and get yourself a good razor and creamy, moisturizing shaving gel or a soap bar.

    Moisturizing matters:

Moisturize your face appropriately. Care for the skin around the eyes. Apply a moisturizer right after the shower to let the moisturizing cream finely absorb into the warm, damp skin to lock in extra moisture.

Apply a rich and creamy lotion to hands to soothe them from all the drying effects of frequent handwashing. Soften the dry, cracked feet by putting a generous amount of foot cream all over the feet and pulling on a pair of socks.

    Shipshape eyebrows:

Eyebrows frame your face. Well-groomed eyebrows can instantly make you look beautiful without makeup more than 60% of the time.

First, decide on the thickness of your eyebrows. Do you want to grow them thicker? Applying castor or coconut oil or a mixture of both, in a circular motion for a minute daily, can help promote hair growth.

Understand the shape of your eyebrows before you start to carve them. If it’s been long and your eyebrows have grown out, then don’t overplay. Just follow the natural shape of your eyebrows. And, start small by removing the extra hair only.

To shape your eyebrows at home, you need a plucker/tweezers to pluck the hair, a thread to remove hair, a spoolie to brush your eyebrows, and a small pair of scissors to trim longer, grown hair.

    Undressed nails:

Nail art or expensive nail lacquer shall not be required at all times. In fact, the well-trimmed and clean nails (yes, without paint) look more classy. Needless to say, bare nails are trending currently.

Instead of having broken, chipped, or uneven nails, you can always opt for going bare. For that, you may need a nail buffer, emery board, or nail filer to keep them in a polished shape.

    Foot file:

Feet pamper session, once a month, will promote blood circulation, soften the skin, and improve the appearance. A foot filer can do a whole lotta the job of a pedicure. Read my complete article on  Super Easy Manicure Pedicure Tips For Beautiful Hands Feet here.

    Au Naturale Makeup:

You can check out our 5 Minute Makeup Routine and No Makeup Makeup Look For Busy Women articles to learn more.

    Smell pleasant:

Perfumes not only lift up your spirit but they calm and soothe your mind. They work as a stress-reliever. And, make you feel attractive and lively to others around you. So be sure to spritz your favorite one.

    Piece of jewelry:

A simple ear stud livens up your face and makes you look so much better. It adds character and enhances the look of your outfit. Even the other accessories, like an elegant wristlet or necklace, can play up your beauty naturally.

    Final words:

A well-stocked bathroom cabinet can make a huge difference in caring for your body, top-to-toe. Those are some ways you can ensure you look as good as possible during this lockdown time.

I would love to know what beauty tips you are following during this quarantine period. Thank you so much for reading!

5-Minute Makeup Routine Using Only 5 Products

Tell me if you agree with me — regardless of how much do we love to follow today’s makeup trends, at all times, we love our good old 5-minute makeup?

Today, we’re going to recreate the same old-style makeup from the ’80s with a little modern touch. Yes, it literally takes 5 minutes and looks as good as any trendy makeup.

Anyone can follow this for their go-to makeup look when they don’t have more than 5 minutes and still want to look fresh & gathered.

(P.S. This makeup is not Hollywood/Bollywood style or what celebrities wore in those days. This is something that women wore in their day-to-day lives.)

A few steps to imitate even today are:

Good makeup starts with good skincare. Ensuring apt skincare is vital to get your makeup base right. If you remember, in those days too, makeup started with good skincare. Women washed their faces clean and put on moisturizing cream. There was Ponds cold cream only available in those days which was stated as a “cold cream” and not as moisturizing cream. And, despite the “cold cream” tag, everyone used it all twelve months. Now, there are many options available to choose from.

    What you need:
    • Primer.
    • Powder foundation/Medium-high coverage compact powder/wet & dry compact powder.
    • Eyebrow pencil/product.
    • Eyeliner pencil or Mascara.
    • Lip product.

    Face Primer:

Earlier, they rubbed an ice cube over the face to help the makeup last longer. As decided to add a modern touch, primer is going to be an additional product. A primer will keep the makeup intact for a longer time. Here we’re not going to use any base makeup products like concealer/foundation/BB/CC cream. So, primer is necessary to hold the makeup in place, minimize the appearance of pores, avoid creasing, and provide a smooth makeup look. Choose a primer appropriate to skin type (oily/dry skin). Take a tiny bit amount on your fingers and spread it all over the face. You can skip a primer if you’re at home and this is your everyday makeup. Also, if you don’t opt for.

    Powder Foundation:

Previously, there were a few loose powders with white/rose tones. But now, with a wide variety of options handy for each and every skin tone, you can make smart choices in terms of formulation, texture, finish, shade, etc., I strongly advocate powder foundation as it does the job of concealer, foundation, and sometimes sunscreen lotion as well. Thus, three lesser steps. Apply with a puff for high coverage. Take care to blend nicely.

    Eyebrow Product:

In those days, eyebrows were never given their due attention. Threading was the only eyebrow grooming method. In fact, the eyebrow grooming step was entirely omitted by many women. However, we cannot afford to do that now. Notably, in this era of selfies & HD cameras doing the brows is of much importance. Pencils give a natural finish, essential with this kind of neutral makeup. Buy a pencil that comes with Spoolie to make it simple.

    Eyeliner or Mascara:

Formerly, there had been several eyeliner styles but the most favored was classic eyeliner with tiny wings. Talking about India, heavy kajal on the lower lashline was the beloved way. So, the heavily kohled look remains admired by people like me. As far as I remember, Lakme kajal in a crayon form and liquid eyeliner were the first entrants in the market. Picking a style relies on your individual taste. Pencil eyeliners are comfortable to work with, on-the-go. But if you like winged eyeliner then liquids/gels/felt tip pens are great choices. You can put to use colored pencil eyeliners to add a little pop of color.

If you’re a mascara person, then it is going to be too simple for you. It’s the only product you need for your eye makeup.

    Lip Product:

Finally, the major component of makeup – Lipsticks. Glossy and shiny – pinks and reds were the lipstick trends of the 80s. To be quite honest, I didn’t like lipsticks back then at all. I dislike them both in terms of colors and finishes. Thankfully, much like all the other cosmetics, lipsticks have improved a lot over the period of time. Nowadays, there are lip shades for every occasion. Lipsticks or lip stains can double up as a blush. Opt for matte lipsticks, creamy ones, or glosses according to your outfits and events.

    Final Words:

This super quick makeup routine is for anyone short on time and cannot spend more than 5 minutes on makeup while getting ready. Also, for those who don’t like a made-up look at all times. By keeping simple, it’ll look classy and take less time and effort. It is easier to carry 5 products in your handbag as well. This is how I recreate the old-style 5-minute makeup.
