    10 Quarantine Beauty Tips

Stuck at home and casting around for some quarantine beauty tips? Or want to ditch the makeup and go fresh-faced for a while? Then this post is for you.

Not all women like to wear full-face makeup at home. I don’t like it either.

Home is a place to be ourselves. And not get caught up in one more job of putting on the makeup. Also, in a stressful state like this, doing a full face of makeup daily won’t be enjoyable, especially when you know you won’t be stepping out.

That’s a small part about makeup. But what about the other beauty treatments that you get done in a salon?

    10 Quarantine Beauty Tips

You need a beauty regimen in place to look and feel confident naturally, without salon treatments or makeup. Particularly in a lockdown situation like this, when beauty salons or at-home salon services aren’t accessible. You need to make a move before things become unmanageable.

In here, we’ll see how to look beautiful without professional salon beauty treatments. And consider not only facial beauty but appearance in general.

    10 Quarantine Beauty Tips

    Radiant skin:

Build an effective skincare routine. In order to have good skin, you should create a good morning and nightly skincare regimen. Wash your face twice daily. Preferably, once in the morning upon waking and second at night before going to bed. A clean, clear complexion is more important than anything to look good without makeup. Check out the detailed step-by-step guide to establish a good skincare routine.

This doesn’t stop here. To look great without makeup, you have to care for your body as well. Shower daily to cleanse, pamper, and polish your skin. Clean clothes should go next to clean skin.

    Soft and shiny locks:

Keep your hair smelling fresh by shampooing regularly. Letting them air-dry. Applying a leave-in conditioner. Brushing twice a day.

Don’t forget to take a break from heat-styling tools.

In the case of overgrown hair, try styling it in different braids or a bun, a great way to explore new looks.

    Body Care:

If you aren’t exfoliating your skin regularly, then you’re missing out on an important skincare factor. Get rid of the dead skin by exfoliating your face, lips, arms, and feet from time to time. Scrubbing the skin removes the dead skin layer and stimulates blood supply, leaving the skin soft and healthy.

In case you are still unfamiliar with the pros of shaving your arms and legs, then you’re missing out on an important benefit of having silky, smooth skin in the comfort of your home. Be sure to do some research and get yourself a good razor and creamy, moisturizing shaving gel or a soap bar.

    Moisturizing matters:

Moisturize your face appropriately. Care for the skin around the eyes. Apply a moisturizer right after the shower to let the moisturizing cream finely absorb into the warm, damp skin to lock in extra moisture.

Apply a rich and creamy lotion to hands to soothe them from all the drying effects of frequent handwashing. Soften the dry, cracked feet by putting a generous amount of foot cream all over the feet and pulling on a pair of socks.

    Shipshape eyebrows:

Eyebrows frame your face. Well-groomed eyebrows can instantly make you look beautiful without makeup more than 60% of the time.

First, decide on the thickness of your eyebrows. Do you want to grow them thicker? Applying castor or coconut oil or a mixture of both, in a circular motion for a minute daily, can help promote hair growth.

Understand the shape of your eyebrows before you start to carve them. If it’s been long and your eyebrows have grown out, then don’t overplay. Just follow the natural shape of your eyebrows. And, start small by removing the extra hair only.

To shape your eyebrows at home, you need a plucker/tweezers to pluck the hair, a thread to remove hair, a spoolie to brush your eyebrows, and a small pair of scissors to trim longer, grown hair.

    Undressed nails:

Nail art or expensive nail lacquer shall not be required at all times. In fact, the well-trimmed and clean nails (yes, without paint) look more classy. Needless to say, bare nails are trending currently.

Instead of having broken, chipped, or uneven nails, you can always opt for going bare. For that, you may need a nail buffer, emery board, or nail filer to keep them in a polished shape.

    Foot file:

Feet pamper session, once a month, will promote blood circulation, soften the skin, and improve the appearance. A foot filer can do a whole lotta the job of a pedicure. Read my complete article on  Super Easy Manicure Pedicure Tips For Beautiful Hands Feet here.

    Au Naturale Makeup:

You can check out our 5 Minute Makeup Routine and No Makeup Makeup Look For Busy Women articles to learn more.

    Smell pleasant:

Perfumes not only lift up your spirit but they calm and soothe your mind. They work as a stress-reliever. And, make you feel attractive and lively to others around you. So be sure to spritz your favorite one.

    Piece of jewelry:

A simple ear stud livens up your face and makes you look so much better. It adds character and enhances the look of your outfit. Even the other accessories, like an elegant wristlet or necklace, can play up your beauty naturally.

    Final words:

A well-stocked bathroom cabinet can make a huge difference in caring for your body, top-to-toe. Those are some ways you can ensure you look as good as possible during this lockdown time.

I would love to know what beauty tips you are following during this quarantine period. Thank you so much for reading!

10 Simple Beauty Tips To Glam Up Your Look This Diwali

After Navratris, it’s time for Diwali celebrations! Truly, these festive months are so joyful! Along with home cleaning, decorating, sweets, and puja preparations – getting all dolled up should be just as important. So, girls, let’s not miss any opportunity to woo your man with a desi look. Today, I have for you these simple tips to glam up your look this Diwali in the least amount of time.

10 SIMPLE BEAUTY TIPS TO GLAM UP YOUR LOOK THIS DIWALI

    Ubtan:

Keeping in tune with the traditional vibes, why not start with the good old skincare technique? – Ubtan. Our traditional recipes work wonders. Ubtan is an ancient recipe – with minor changes in the ingredients, and works for all types of skin.

I call Ubtan a one-step facial because it cleanses, exfoliates, and can be used as a face pack and also for facial hair removal. I had a friend in college, who never used soap or cleanser for bathing. She only used ubtan and believe me she had healthy and fair skin.

To use ubtan as a Scrub – first, apply it as a face pack. Then, while removing it, scrub in a circular motion and rinse with water. For better results, apply ubtan two-three times a week.

    Coconut Milk Hair Mask:

My grandma swears by this recipe. It is an incredible solution to numerous hair problems. Coconut milk can cure hair fall, prevent premature greying, overcome itchy scalp, tame frizzy hair, deeply moisturize dry hair and give a soft silky texture.

Having smooth and silky hair will enable you to style them super quickly during festive times. Apply this hair mask and leave it for an hour before shampooing. Once or twice a week is advisable.

Milk and rose petal Soak for hands and feet:

Diwali is all about jewelry and traditional wear which means hands and feet will be visible. Therefore, they need appropriate nourishment.

Milk and rose petal soak is the simplest and again one-step way to soften the cuticles and brighten up the skin. Once a week is adequate.

    Mehndi:

How can an Indian ethnic look be complete without Henna/mehndi on hands? The gem of Indian beauty, henna/mehndi can really make for an impactful element of your appearance.

It’s time to jazz up your look with some makeup. Taking into account the general rule of thumb – Light makeup with slightly heavy ethnic wear and vice versa, complimenting makeup can add charms to your appearance. Light makeup does not mean something like No-makeup or simple makeup. It means, keeping the colors and intensity in harmony with the outfit to avoid looking overdone.

    Primer:

You’ll need a primer if you’re going to run around attending the guests, cooking food, or performing pujas. Because chances are you’ll sweat. A primer will ensure that your eye makeup doesn’t smudge, your foundation doesn’t appear patchy or your concealer doesn’t settle into the fine lines. It absorbs natural oils from the skin and gives your foundation something to stick to, for a longer time.

    Illuminating serum:

This is a must-have product for a festive look. Mixing a tiny amount of illuminating serum with your foundation will add a healthy glow to the face. Combining it with the foundation helps forgo the additional step of blending separately.

    Contours And Highlights:

Yes, slight contouring and highlighting will sculpt your face. It’ll take your makeup to the next level and help you photograph really well.

    Bold Lipsticks:

Time to put all the neutral and nude lipsticks aside and flaunt bold lips. Reds, peaches, pinks, berries, wines, burgundies, fuschias., just go for it and make your outfit stand out.

    Nail Art:

This Diwali, dress your nails in traditional hues. Colors like maroon, peacock green or blue, royal pink, and yellow would look great with Indian outfits.

    Accessories:

Super Simple Skincare Routine For Moms

Do you want to enhance your beauty without makeup? – A good skincare routine is the way to go.

For healthy and glowing skin, you need to keep it clean.

Allotting a small amount of time to a good skincare routine will keep you looking bright, fresh, and glowy all the time.

Unlike makeup, which lasts for a few hours (you cannot wear makeup 24/7), a good skincare routine keeps the complexion in great shape even while aging.

Super Simple Skincare Routine For Busy Women

It is important to start doing a little bit for your skin at an early age to maintain a smooth and supple complexion.

Neglecting the skin can cause issues such as pimples, acne, blackheads, pigmentation, and dry skin, which can take time to cure.

Many people see the results immediately after starting a routine, while others may take some time.

Once you start following the routine, day by day, you’ll start noticing improvement in your skin.

(Note: I am not a skincare expert. This is a simple routine that works for me and my family. It would be great to consult your dermatologist before starting any skincare routine to know what steps and products suit your skin.)SUPER SIMPLE SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR BUSY WOMEN

This is a basic routine that anyone with normal/oily/combination, or dry skin can follow.

People with sensitive skin should follow the advice of their dermatologist.

    DAILY

    1) Cleansing:

    a) Remove the eye makeup using a cotton wipe and good-quality makeup remover.

Take some remover on a cotton ball and hold it gently over the closed eyelashes for a few seconds; wait for the mascara to dissolve, and then wipe it off. Use a cotton swab (Q-tip) to clean further thoroughly.

This step is required only if you’ve applied eye makeup. Otherwise, start the routine from step (b).

    b) Apply cleansing lotion to the face and massage for a couple of minutes until the makeup breaks down. Wipe off with a cotton pad, a damp sponge, or even better – using tissues/baby wipes.

After this, cleanse your face with a mild facial wash.

Follow step (b) even when you’ve not applied any makeup to remove the oil, dirt, and grime. This step is essential for deep cleansing (aka double cleansing).

    2) Toning:

Take some toner on a cotton pad, and apply it to the face, wiping off any residue left behind after cleansing.

Use an alcohol-free toner for normal or combination skin, or an astringent lotion if you have extremely oily skin. People with dry skin can skip this step.

    3) Moisturizing:

Apply moisturizing lotion on your face in upward strokes, covering the neck area as well.

A moisturizer that dries to a matte finish or a gel-based one will be a good pick for oily skin. Dry skin beauties can use a day cream for deep moisturization.

Moisturize for at least 15-20 minutes before applying the makeup to ensure that the product sinks well into the skin.

Moisturizing at night is essential to experience well-hydrated, soft, and smooth skin the next morning.

    4) Eye-Cream:

Choose a good eye cream or gel, and apply it gently under the eye area. Include this step in your night skincare routine.

You can start using an eye cream from your late 20s to prevent wrinkles and puffiness around the eyes.

    5) Lip Balm:

Exfoliate your lips after washing your face every day.

You can use a washcloth to gently scrub off the dead skin from the lips. And apply a good lip balm.

If you have pigmented lips, use a mix of almond oil and vitamin E oil, and apply it to the lips regularly to get rid of the pigmentation.

    6) Exfoliating:

Take a fine granule gentle exfoliator, dot it on a damp face, and scrub in a light circular motion.

Do this at least once a week. This step is vital to remove the dead skin layer from the face, necessary for a clear and brighter complexion.

Cleanse the face (follow step 1).

Apply the face mask, leave it for 5-10 minutes, and rinse off with lukewarm water. Or follow the instructions on the product.

Pat dry and apply moisturizer or night cream (if it is nighttime) immediately on a damp face to maximize the results.

Follow this step, 1-2 times a month if you’re under 30, and weekly for 30+ women.

    Final Words

The CTM routine (Cleansing-Toning-Moisturizing) should be followed twice a day.

Along with a good skincare routine, a balanced diet, proper water intake, enough sleep, regular exercise, and a stress-free lifestyle are important for better skin.

A daily skincare routine is a great investment for lifetime results. Practicing these steps regularly will ensure a healthy complexion.
